Social Media Public Comment Policy
At the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD), our social media pages are used to share updates, resources, education, and vital information that supports the health and well-being of our community. We encourage open, respectful discussion and value our community’s participation.
To maintain a safe and inclusive space for all, CUPHD reserves the right to remove comments that contain:
- Profane, obscene, or threatening language
- Personal attacks or discriminatory remarks
- False or misleading information
- Spam, advertisements, or commercial promotions
- Political campaigning or electioneering
- Content that violates privacy or confidentiality laws
- Off-topic or irrelevant content
Because social media is active around the clock and we can’t monitor every comment after hours, we count on our community to rise above personal attacks, ignore negativity, and respond with kindness.
Repeated violations or abusive behavior may result in a user being blocked from future interactions.
Comments on this page are public and may be subject to public records laws. While we may not respond to every comment, we strive to answer questions and share accurate, evidence-based information whenever possible.
By engaging with CUPHD’s social media pages, you agree to follow this policy and the platform’s community standards.
Thank you for helping us keep these spaces respectful, informative, and focused on improving the health of Champaign County.
