Narcan/Narcan Training

Narcan (Naloxone) is an opioid antidote. This means Narcan can reverse/stop someone from overdosing on an opioid.

Opioids are: heroin, opium, codeine, fentanyl, hydrocodone, and other prescription pain relievers.

The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District prevention staff train friends and family members of opiate users on the use of NARCAN and how to administer the medicine to stop an overdose. Anyone, 18 years of age and older, can walk in for this training during regular business hours.
