Sexual Health Resources

The CDC recommends 20 sexual health education topics as being critical for ensuring a young person’s sexual health.1 In Illinois only 17% of secondary schools taught all 20 topics in grades 6, 7, or 8 and 44.8% in grades 9, 10, 11, or 12.2 CUPHD’s Health Educators are currently teaching comprehensive sexual health education in these schools in Champaign County. Unfortunately, there are still schools in Champaign Coutny that are not offering youth this vital information, which is why we have included some wonderful community and online resources for parents and youth alike to help bridge this gap.
