Teen pregnancy: Prevention and education

Thursday - Jun 04, 2015

When it comes to teen pregnancy, parents can help their mom-to-be manage medical care and tell them what to expect during doctors' visits. Your daughter will probably have a full physical with blood and urine tests, plus, she'll be checked for sexually-transmitted diseases.

The doctor should also go over several topics with your daughter, such as how often prenatal visits should be scheduled, what she may feel physically and emotionally as well as how to deal with some of the uncomfortable side effects of pregnancy. The doctor will also prescribe prenatal vitamins.

Talia Oakley and Jennifer Jackson with CU Public Health District, are here with more.
