Older Americans Month, an observance from the Department of Health and Human Services' Administration on Aging, is an occasion to show appreciation and support for seniors as they continue to enrich and strengthen our communities. Older adults are at particularly high risk for developing diabetes and nearly 11 million adults in the U.S. age 65 and older have diabetes. This May, show your appreciation for older adults by helping them manage or prevent diabetes. Check out NDEP's It's Not Too Late to Prevent Diabetes tip sheet and The Power to Control Diabetes Is in Your Hands Community Outreach Kit and brochure.
