Children's Blood Lead Tests

photo

Almost one out of six children in the US gets lead poisoning. Lead poisoning is caused when lead is eaten or breathed in as dust, and it usually has no obvious symptoms. The only way to diagnose it is through a blood test.

CUPHD administers blood lead tests for children in Champaign County Head Start.

To learn more about lead poisoning, visit the Illinois Department of Public Health's Healthbeat website.
